THE LODGE AT PEBBLE BEACH

PEBBLE BEACH, CALIFORNIA

The Lodge at Pebble Beach undertook multiple phased renovation and construction projects which included the main hotel, pro shops, conference room facilities, satellite hotel buildings, and restaurant facilities.

New construction at the Lodge included the Lapham House, Jeffers House, and the McCombs House, which consist of 54 luxury hotel units in three 3-story buildings, and include elevators, fireplaces, and wet bars. In addition, two golf pro shops at Pebble Beach and Spyglass Hill Golf Courses were constructed, with the tennis pro shop at the Beach Club, and the Beach Club House undergoing cosmetic and structural renovations.

The Main Hotel was extensively remodeled, including the complication of completing demolition and the remodeling of the second and third floors concurrent with maintaining the first floor open for operation. At the existing Main Hotel, 2,500 square feet were excavated out, and the new Club XIX restaurant and kitchen facilities were built underneath. This was particularly difficult due to significant shoring and underpinning required underneath the fifty-year old existing hotel building.

All work was completed on time and on budget by Ken Defiebre as a principal of the General Contractor for all phases of the project, prior to establishing the project management firm, The KSD Group.
