The Campbell Hall School was founded in 1944 as an independent, coeducational, college preparatory, Episcopal day school for students in kindergarten through grade 12, located in North Hollywood, California.
The project consisted of 74,198 square feet which included the construction of a new 2 level, 3 building superstructure over parking with 24 new classrooms, 8 general purpose and 16 devoted to the arts, new arts education classrooms designed specifically for fine and performing arts including music, dance, theatre, painting, sculpture, photography, video, and new media production and editing; an art gallery; a new Faculty Resource Center; terraces and gardens; state-of-the-art technology infrastructure; a pedestrian oriented master plan; and a multi-level underground parking structure for 173 parking stalls; all of which achieved LEED “gold” certification.
In 2010 KSD was engaged to perform full service project construction management services on behalf of Campbell Hall School in order to meet the institution’s programming, development, financial and operational goals. Plans and specifications were completed in late June, and Matt Construction was selected through a fee and general conditions RFP process as the general contractor. Construction began in September 2010 and completed in June 2012.
KSD provided full service project management during preconstruction and subcontractor buyout and construction management services during construction. A number of major client-generated changes were incorporated into the work while maintaining the project schedule
