AIRPORT MARINA CENTER

OXNARD, CALIFORNIA

The KSD Group provided construction management services on the development of the Airport Marina Center in Oxnard, a 13.7 acre mixed-use retail, office and self-storage center, coordinating the design and construction team during the preconstruction and construction phases.

The project included completion of all onsite improvements and buildings for three parcels, all offsite and street improvements, and certain utility work and pad preparation for the adjacent Mobil service station site. The project is located at the intersection of Victoria Avenue and West Fifth Street in the City of Oxnard, California.

Additionally, KSD handled the management of the street improvement work in front of the adjacent APS Services site as well as numerous management issues affecting the Mobil site. Upon the Owner’s request, KSD acted as the construction manager for tenant improvement build-outs and the repair and renovation work at the existing Airport Self-Storage and Ventura County Airport Center.

KSD was instrumental in reducing the total project cost by over $400,000 through value engineering efforts and negotiated savings in plan check corrections, awarding the final construction contract and negotiating contractor change order requests. The project was completed on schedule.
