The KSD Group provided project management services for a mixed use project on a 1.35 acre site in downtown Santa Barbara. The project consists of approximately 15,000 square feet of public market space, with an additional 9,000 square feet of retail space, 34 condominium units of superior quality including one and two bedroom units, three guest rooms, a club room, below-grade market storage, manager’s office and residential lobby, as well as underground parking of approximately 40,000 square feet.

The KSD Group was responsible for all preconstruction administration involving the writing and bidding of consultant work, cost estimating, oversight on all consultant contracts, and maintaining the project schedule.  During construction, KSD was on site with responsibilities for the bidding and award of the general contractor, the bidding of all sub-consultants and subcontractors, and full construction administration services until completion of the project.

Unique to this project will be the relocation of six large historic mosaic panels from the existing Von’s supermarket store on Victoria Street to the west end façade of the new “Market Place”.  The mosaic is attached to the existing façade of the old market and has been listed as “historically significant” by the City of Santa Barbara.
